see that?! where the litter box used to be? yeah, those are poops.

he didn't get the memo to follow the litter. my cat is either really dumb or a smart ass who refuses to be toilet trained.

day 1

setup:

basically, you trick the cat into using this plastic pan as a litter box. if he's accident-free for a week, one of the inner rings is removed, and this process repeats until he goes from the toilet rim without litter. let the training begin...

the stage is set. i sprinkled some cat nip in the litter to entice him.

he seems perplexed.

i ordered this kit about 3 weeks ago. i finally pulled the trigger and made the purchase after sea bass left some surprise poops on my roomie's backpack (haha).

recently, more of these surprises have turned up in the corner of our dining room much to my chagrin. so after waiting around for this kit to arrive in the mail, i wonder... why is it taking so long? turns out it's been here for 2 weeks, but the office lost track of the package. that is until i called them this morning.

concierge: "oh i found it! it's a kitty potty?"

me: "... yes."

i'm waiting for the training kit to arrive in the mail. in the meantime, i've moved the litter box next to the toilet. sea bass knows what i'm up to...

oh, yes. i did.

partly, as a joke for my friend jennifer. partly, because i need a creative outlet. and partly, because i actually have some friends with cats who are interested to see if this toilet training program will really work.

meet the product tester: sea bass (that's short for sebastien)
